Methodology
Verification work moves faster than insurance or estate work because the deliverable is decision support, not litigation-ready documentation. We grade and measure the piece, compare what we see against what's claimed, and tell you straight what the differences mean for value. Where you've brought a lab report, we verify the stone matches the certificate (people swap stones; certificates get reused). Where there's no lab report, we apply the same gemological grading we'd apply for an insurance appraisal but skip the formal documentation overhead. The point is to give you what you need to make a good decision — not to produce a document.
Common questions
Do I need to bring the seller's documentation?
Bring whatever paperwork you have — lab reports, receipts, prior appraisals — but it's not required. We can grade and identify what's in front of us regardless.
Will you tell me what I should pay?
We'll tell you what the piece is worth, and what the comparable market looks like. The number you choose to pay is your call, but you'll have the information to make it.
What if I'm buying online and can't bring the piece in?
Most reputable online sellers will agree to ship to an independent appraiser before you complete the purchase. If a seller refuses, that's information you should weigh.
